Microsoft Office 2003 Activation
Microsoft introduced the activation feature into their software in a bid to combat software piracy. Once Microsoft Office 2003 is installed, you are only granted to run the program with full functionality for a limited time until it is activated.
Activation is simplest when completed through the internet – you are prompted each time you run an inactivated copy of Microsoft Office to activate it, and if you select the internet option, the process is completed with minimal fuss.
If you do not have internet access available on your computer when you are trying to activate it, you have another option of activating by telephone. This choice is much more labour intensive, as it takes you through a menu system to find a telephone number for your country or region, and once you’ve called the appropriate number, you will have to enter a lengthy number presented to you on your screen into the telephone using the keypad. Once completed, you will be told another lengthy number which needs entering into the computer.
The microsoft office 2003 activation process, whether completed by the internet or by phone, ensures that the programs product key, which was entered during the installation process has not been used more times than allowed.
If you choose do not activate Office 2003, functionality will become reduced to the point where you cannot save any edited files, together with a loss of other functionality. Even if you continue to use the software in this state, your documents will not be affected, and you still have the option of carrying out the microsoft office 2003 activation at any time to restore full functionality.
